Would really appreciate some suggestions:
I’m currently with Hostgator on their baby plan with 100000 inodes. My site is slow and believes it’s due to the hosting.
Are there any other plans which would be better suited to my site or any suggestions where I can get more resources or better value? I have limited experience with hosting so i need good support

How many visitors do you get per day or month? Do you have a peak usage time? Looking at the space you are using, it looks like very light resource usage. Pretty sure you’d be better off at a different hosting provider. Also, is your site optimized? Have you checked with gtmetrix.com if they have suggestions to improve performance.
The best advice I can give you is to not go with any web host provider owned by endurance international group or EIG. They’re not a very good web hosting company and their support sucks. I had HostGator before and ended up getting ripped off. But like someone else had said you definitely want to look for a managed host provider.
Move to your own VPS. It will be much smoother for sure! If you need any assistance with the server management or website migrations, you can let me know.
Ignore anyone telling you to get your own VPS to run, like Linode, DigitalOcean, Vultr or SSD Nodes etc… you stated you have little experience with hosting, last thing you want to do is complicate your life.

You really need a managed service, your site would be fine on a managed shared server, EIG companies like HG are not good shared environments for performance. They overload servers with many clients, where a company like ours only puts 30 accounts on a shared server and we use high availability setups with 2 or more servers in 2 or more data centers.

Cheap hosting never equals good, maybe passable, never good as they are cutting corners somewhere.
Hg for instance cuts off your backups if you go over 100k inodes. I’ve had clients lose theirs sites due to hacking at hg because of this limit and them not realizing their auto backups were turned off.
We on other hand have hourly backups which only our staff can access, plus hourly, daily and weekly which clients can access and all on separate backup servers in separate data centers.
